Week Seven

This week, Shot 3 is much closer to the Bvlgari brand identity. I am proud of how the lighting helped get Team Carat here (especially with the diamonds).

There are still a few imperfections. There is the obvious rasterization in the reflection of the ring foremost. The problem is not caused by the render resolution, or Arnold’s samples or filter size.

The contrast between the ring’s crevices and exterior was improved, but perhaps not resolved. The team will deliver an updated mesh this week to solve this problem.

Two more things hold back this shot from radiating with the Bvlgari brand identity. The dark reflection in the bottom of the ring, as well as the warm reflection on the left side of the ring are out of place. My guess to the cause of these artifacts is the HDRI.

These changes need to be made to Shot 2 also. The continuity between the two shots can improve greatly.
