Week Five

“Serpenti. A symbol of wisdom, power and rebirth, the snake appears again and again throughout Bulgari’s collections.” -Bvlgari

Lighting Shot 1-1 has had many revisions this week. Based upon feedback, we decided on using the dragon model without the crystal ball. Also, the 2.5D projection is now based off of the SCAD student center.  The camera is a revision of a shot from week two. A struggle I’ve had is lighting for both the jade and gold shader in Shot 1-1. The student center background makes me think that cascading gods rays can motivate a subtle lighting shift. This would also conceal parts of the environment, adding to the allure of the product. I’ll experiment with that this week.

Shot 3-1 (Matte Painting).

A critique I am working on is matching luminosity between plates. For the matte painting, I will continue photo-bashing the second mountain and desert. Grade/color correcting, painting the light, and adding slight atmosphere will come quickly after.

Shot 1-1.

Shot 1-1 (Gold Color corrected by Veronica).

The arch was removed from the Shot 3-1 matte painting as to not distract from the product. This week I will add more bounce light to the front of the ring, and have the matte painting split in layers for depth in compositing.
